How Becky Cortino Views Humor & Life: “Healing Humor is not a Band Aid – it’s a Way of Life!”
Becky Cortino is the creative mind behind AHeart4Clowning.com, a series of books, related multi-media, and online resources on Healing Humor and Injecting Humor in the Healthcare Setting through Hospital Clowns, Healthcare Family Entertainers and Staff.
Since 1997, Becky follows a meandering joy-filled journey from a marketing/PR consultancy she founded, to actively performing as a family entertainer and with Frye Regional Medical Center’s Charlie’s Chaplains, serving as group coordinator since 2003. Established in 1991 and thought to be one of the oldest continually-performing all-volunteer hospital clown groups, Charlie’s Chaplains today is a ‘New Generation’ version, including professional jugglers, magicians, puppeteers, musicians. Charlie’s Chaplains’ now-infamous “Skool” was designed and instigated by Becky, first launching in February, 2004, drawing attendees from other states, training many other groups, troupes and ministries.
Becky has a heart to share her passion and message of encouragement as a writer, broadcaster, featured public speaker, and presenter.

Ms. Cortino has published articles internationally, collaborative writings in two recently-published books, a series of EBooks, an audio program about real-life applications of everyday healing humor and trained 220 hospital clowns/healthcare family entertainers in 8 Skools. Becky was a featured speaker-presenter at the 23rd annual Association of Applied and Therapeutic Humor (AATH) Conference in Disneyland April 22-25, 2010.
